Shivaram Mysore - Executive Bio

Founder & CEO, Vyges

Founder and CEO at Vyges. We sell silicon; we use software-style infrastructure to ship it faster than anyone else.

Professional Background

Shivaram Mysore is the Founder and CEO of Vyges. Vyges builds and licenses fab-ready SoC IP, commissions silicon for buyers, and operates the first open registry for silicon IP. With over two decades of experience at the intersection of software, standards, and infrastructure, Shivaram brings a rare cross-disciplinary lens to silicon development.

Career Experience

At Sun Microsystems, Shivaram led secure web services strategy and architecture, driving product direction, standards alignment, and developer outreach across multiple engineering teams. His contributions spanned over 10 software releases—including JavaOS, Java Card, and Java Wallet—where he delivered key optimizations, led customer-facing technical engagements, and shaped foundational security protocols still used in the industry.

At Microsoft, Shivaram led smart card architecture and cryptographic infrastructure efforts across multiple Windows releases, including XP, Vista, and Windows 7—driving standards alignment, FIPS compliance, and security feature design. He influenced enterprise authentication strategy at the highest levels, successfully built and scaled a cross-functional team, and helped unlock over $500M in customer value through smart card-based security integrations.

At Infoblox, Shivaram served as Technical Strategist in the Office of the CTO, where he drove technology strategy, managed a $7+M innovation budget, and led evaluations for partnerships and M&A. He launched the company’s IP program, contributed to open SDN standards, and was instrumental in bringing emerging technologies—like virtualization and SDN—to product and market readiness.

Standards Leadership

Shivaram has been actively involved in shaping industry standards across multiple domains:

  • W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) – Co-Chair and Co-Editor of the XML Key Management Specification (XKMS); contributor to the XML Signature, XML Encryption, and broader XML Security standards that underpin secure web services.
  • ANSI/ISO: Participated in international standards development
  • PC/SC Workgroup – Chairman of the industry consortium that defined standards for interoperability between smart cards and personal computers; led multi-vendor collaboration to drive adoption across the ecosystem, contributing to secure authentication and identity solutions globally.
  • Open Networking Foundation (ONF): Helped define SDN related open networking standards

Vision for Vyges

"Silicon development should be as fast, modular, and accessible as software development. We're building the tools and ecosystem to make that vision a reality."

At Vyges, Shivaram leads a company that ships fab-ready SoC IP on top of an open metadata standard. Vyges combines the Vyges Metadata Standard, automated SoC delivery, and AI-agent-friendly tooling to ship silicon faster than the legacy IP-vendor + integration-services pipeline supports.

Leadership & Execution

As a repeat founder and experienced operator, Shivaram blends strategic clarity with hands-on execution. He has led initiatives across startups, global standards bodies, and large enterprise environments. At Vyges, he drives both long-term platform direction and day-to-day execution—from metadata infrastructure to developer workflows—balancing vision with momentum.
